The skin is a living organ made up of millions of cells organized in several layers. Everyday thousands of cells are sloughed off, and new cells from deeper layers of the skin replace them. As part of aging, this process becomes slower causing the skin to appear dull and uneven. This non-invasive very superficial chemical peel utilizes a novel approach to chemical peeling with a newer generation of alpha-hydroxy acids (mandelic acid and malic acid) in combination with phytic acid and commonly used peeling agents (salicylic acid and resorcinol) to maximize skin-rejuvenating effects with low irritation. TCA
Trichloroacetic acid is a medium depth peel, used for bleaching the sun spots and for treatment of very mild wrinkling and removal of precancerous skin lesions. Most people have similar aging and sun damage changes not only on the face but also on the neck, chest and hands. Fortunately, medium depth peels are safe to be performed on these non-facial areas.
Healing time varies with the depth of the peel and can takes about 7 to 10 days. Therefore, most patients choose to stay home during the healing time following a medium depth TCA peel.

GLYCOLIC PEELS
Glycolic (fruity acid, alpha hydroxy) peels, ranging from 30 to 70%, superficially exfoliate and refresh the skin and allow for improved penetration of skin care products. Series of mild, superficial glycolic peels improve superficial brown spots and sun damage. These peels may be successfully combined with microdermabrasion for even nicer and quicker results.
